Since our first long journey by bicycle across South America, the meaning of being on the way by bicycle changed from a way of travelling to a possible way of living, the "velovida", an artificial word composed of the swiss word for bicycle (velo) and the spanish word for life (vida).
The equipment can contribute a rather important part in making a trip successful and enjoyable.
But the much more important role play the people we meet on the road, who make us feel at home far away from home, people who pave us the way thanks to their openness and helpfulness, so that we have the chance to turn the unknown into something familiar.
